Dostal Diabetes education classes meet every week for six weeks.
First Class: Diabetes: Let’s Get Started! What are you doing now? What do you want to learn more about? Goal setting (2.0 hours) Bring your meters. We will test blood glucose in class. Second Class: Carbohydrate counting. Label reading (1.5 hours) Third Class: Eating out, Alcohol, Heart Health: Guest Speaker (1.5 hours) Fourth Class: Meal Planning, Evaluating blood sugar results. What to do when you are ill (1.5 hours) Fifth Class: Complications and foot care Guest Speaker (1.5 hours) Sixth Class: Problem-solving and handling stress (1.5 hours)
Classes meet on Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. at the Flanagan State Bank, 2401 East Washington, Lower Level Conference Room, Bloomington.

LIFESTEPS® is for people who are ready to change their behaviors so they can lose weight. In this eight-week program, you can devote your time and attention to practicing new behaviors that will reinforce new habits and diminish old behaviors.
Classes meet on Saturdays at 8:00 a.m. at 2412 East Washington, Suite 1B, Bloomington. Classes are one hour in length.
